Iris

HOPE BLOOMS

About 10 years ago my cousin, from Georgia, gave me an Iris tuber that had belonged to her deceased sister. It wouldn't grow in Georgia and she thought maybe it would grow in North Dakota. It was very small, no larger than 2 inches and had a worm hole. It was mid October when it arrived and the ground was already frozen. I dug a shallow hole for it and didn't plan on seeing it again. Three years later it bloomed for the first time and has bloomed every other year since. I call it Hope because it had nothing else.
